EMERGENCY services are normally called upon in times of need, but for one upcoming event they’re planning a day of fun.

Groups including St John Ambulance, Hampshire Fire and Rescue and the RNLI are planning a family fun day to take place in Fareham’s West Street on Saturday, October 17 from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

St John members will demonstrate CPR and other first aid practices and show off their cycle responders, allowing visitors to see how well-equipped their bicycles are.

Ramora UK is bringing a bomb disposal robot and there will be a police BMW motorcycle on display.

Leisure and community executive member Councillor Sue Bell said: ‘I encourage everyone to attend this important event.

‘Not only will be this be a fun day for everyone, it may prove vital.

‘You never know when you might find yourself in an emergency situation.’
