PONY rides, birds of prey and Milo the parrot were among the attractions at the Hampshire Pet Fair.
The Mountbatten Centre sports hall in Stamshaw was transformed as animal lovers descended for the show.
There was also a reptile and amphibian display and a small animal petting farm, as well as free goody bags, trade stands and local stalls run by local pet-related businesses and crafts.
Ray Paterson helped run the event on behalf of Sam Mitchell, who was sadly taken ill shortly before the event.
He said: ‘It went really, really well.
‘There was a really good turnout – over 1,000 people.
‘We had a Sphinx cat club, pony rides, and we had a funfair out the back which had a bouncy castle and little teacup ride.’
