HELP for people suffering from chronic pain will be available for a further year after funding was granted.

The Gosport branch of Partners Through Pain received the money from Denplan’s community fund which will enable it to carry on for another 12 months.

The support group provides vital help for people suffering with chronic pain and has about 30 members who benefit from its services.

Chairwoman Jane Price said: ‘We’re delighted that Denplan has generously provided the essential funds we need to continue our help in the community.

‘Chronic pain does not always show as a disability. In fact some sufferers can look quite well.’

The group helps its members as chronic pain can lead to fatigue, isolation and depression.

Its aim is to provide sufferers with somewhere they can go for support, in a friendly environment.

Sharon Ellis, Denplan’s community fund chairwoman, added: ‘As a Hampshire-based business, we’re very pleased to help a vital resource continue in Gosport.

‘The importance of groups such as Gosport Partners through Pain should never be underestimated.’

Meetings are held at Christ Church Parish Hall, on Stoke Road.
