IT’S TIME to dig deep and get your Red Nose ready to raise money for charity.
This year Comic Relief’s fundraiser takes place on Friday.
And people across Portsmouth and Hampshire are busy planning wacky, weird and wonderful ways to raise money for the cause.
In Portsmouth’s Guildhall Square a host of activities will be taking place from midday to 2pm such as karaoke and a dressing-up box for people to donate unwanted clothing.
It includes creating a giant ‘human’ Red Nose.
People are being encouraged to wear something red, so they can form a giant circle, and make a giant Red Nose.
Craig Willcock, cultural development officer for Portsmouth City Council, which has organised the event, said: ‘We’re hoping to get a good turnout, although obviously it depends on the weather.
‘But we just want people to come along and have a good time and raise money.
‘At about 1pm we’re going to get as many people in front of the big screen to create a massive Red Nose.’
Schools will also be taking part in the fun, including pupils at Milton Park Primary School, Eastney Road, Southsea.
Children there will be donating £1 to come to school in ‘bad taste’ clothes.
