Gallery: Glamorous night celebrated stars
Portsmouth's entertainment industry A-listers were out in force last night at The Guide Awards.
The best of our local, music, film, theatre, art and food and drink industries were honoured when The News held an exciting and entertaining ceremony at the Kings Theatre.
Winners and runners-up in 17 categories were announced at a glamorous evening in Southsea hosted by Steve Power from Wave 105.

As well as the great and the good from local entertainment, lucky readers of The News who had applied for tickets were among the audience in the 1,600-seat auditorium.
Awards were presented by representatives from local institutions and businesses such as the University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth Guildhall, the Kings Theatre and Portsmouth City Council. And the crowd was treated to performances from a range of local talent during the night.

First up, Best DJ winner Tom Burrell took a gaggle of Tiger Tiger's funky dancers on stage with him to give the audience a taste of his Boogie Wonderland club night.
No sooner had Mark Waldron, the editor of The News, finished his opening speech, when another group of top young performers took to the stage. Saxuality, a saxophone group from South Downs College, were followed by performances from CCADS (Corpus Christi Amateur Dramatic Society, who were nominated for Best Amateur Production), Instant Star winner Leslie Hale and folk/skiffle duo Reet Petit.
Dave Allen, from Reet Petit, was awarded the special achievement honour for his work as a teacher, champion of film-making, exhibiting artist and performing musician.
Dave Allen said after winning the Lifetime Achievement Award: 'I'm overwhelmed, and I'm not usually like that. I'm so grateful.
'It's that love affair with Portsmouth I have – a very special thing.
'What a night like this shows is that it's OK to go on dreaming. You can keep doing more things, no matter how modest they are.'
The show came to a close with a rebel-rousing collection of ska songs from local band The White Coats, before a special after-show party at Little Johnny Russell's.
Audience member Matt Merrit, from Cosham, said: 'There was a really good selection of people and a nice atmosphere. It must have been a hard job picking the winners because I thought everyone deserved an award.
'And it was nice to see so many people from different aspects of Portsmouth entertainment all out together celebrating. The ceremony had a real community feel.'
