THERE is still chance to take part in a bowlathon to raise money for a new children’s charity.

Five-year-old Sam Merrick has a rare immuno-deficiency which means constant trips to hospital.

His mother Louise, from Denmead, hit upon the idea of buying a caravan for other families in the same position as them, to relax in and spend time together away from hospitals.

They need to raise £30,000 to buy the caravan, in Church Farm, Pagham, West Sussex, which they will call Sam’s Haven.

The first fundraising event is on November 13 at AMF Bowling in Havant.

The bowlathon starts at 11am and finishes at 11pm. Entry is £3.50 per person, per game. There will also be a raffle.
