KNITTERS and sewers have been called upon to make Christmas gifts and decorations to benefit the blind.

The Royal National Institute of Blind People has asked for knitted and sewn donations of any size, shape or colour which could be sold to raise money for the charity.

Fundraising manager Natalie Hargreaves said she hoped craft enthusiasts in the Portsmouth area would get involved.

Ms Hargreaves said: ‘We are delighted to be involved in a number of Christmas activities this year and hope this will be something that will be of interest to local groups and individuals. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who can help.’
