CHILDREN can enjoy excavating and examining at a historic fort to learn more about its past.

Activities are taking place every day until April 17 at Fort Nelson on Portsdown Hill.

The Victorian fort will be teaching children of its history and the stories of the people who lived and worked here.

There will be a recreated test dig and daily gun firings at 1pm.
