A SERIES of events are coming up at city churches.

A charity lunch is being held at St Mary’s Church, in Fratton, Portsmouth, on Wednesday, September 3, at noon.

Three days later, the British Orthodox community will hold its monthly service at St Faith’s Church in Landport from 10am.

It’s back to St Mary’s on Sunday, September 7, with a barbecue at noon following the morning service.

Tickets for the barbecue cost £2.

The church will hold a sale of goods on Sunday, September 13, from 10am to noon as part of an open day at the historic venue.

Visitors will get to climb the tower to see views of the city.

On the same day there will be a coffee morning from 10am at St Wilfrid’s Church in Buckland.

Then on Thursday, September 18, the same church will hold a charity lunch before taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at 10am on Friday, September 26, to raise funds for the cause.
