YOUNG budding film directors are being urged to enter a short film contest.

The News has teamed up with the National Youth Film Festival Awards to showcase the best of teenage UK talent.

The ‘Round My Corner’ competition focuses on family, friends and local neighbourhoods.

Short-listed nominees will have their films put before a range of famous film sector professionals.

To enter you must be aged 19 or under and produce a film no longer than three minutes in length based on what ‘Round My Corner’ means to you.

Mark Waldron, editor of The News, said: ‘I am delighted that The News is taking part in such an exciting project.

‘In this digital age the technology is getting smarter all the time and the ability to film and edit has never been more accessible.

‘Video is now an established part of showcasing the lives we lead and the world we live in. I can’t wait to see the finished projects.’
