A retirement home is holding a coffee and cake morning to raise money for charity.

Churchill Retirement Living has organised the event as part of its continued partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support.

Guests will be welcomed to the company’s Summerson Lodge development in Alverstone Road, Southsea, on September 23, at 10.30am.

Churchill Retirement Living has previously raised more than £217,000 for the charity, since setting up its partnership in 2009.

Chairman and group managing director, Spencer McCarthy said: ‘The event is not only a fantastic way to raise money for a very worthy cause but also an opportunity to get the local community together.

‘We hope the people of Portsmouth will join us at Summerson Lodge and show their support to help us raise even more for Macmillan this year.
