GENEROUS eight-year-old Lucy Fairall is holding a fundraising bash to raise money for a cancer charity.

Lucy, a Crofton Anne Dale Junior School pupil, decided to put on the event after hearing that her friend’s mum has cancer.

The afternoon of fun activities will see a disco, sweet cart, raffle and entertainment take over The Crofton Club, in Stubbington, on Sunday.

Lucy organised a 10-mile walk last year to raise money for Macmillan, in which she raised £500 for the charity.

She was inspired to fundraise after 41-year-old Claire Sloane – the mum of friend Katie – was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2013.

Despite treatment, sadly the cancer has returned.

Lucy’s mum Charlotte, of Stubbington, said: ‘Lucy is trying so hard to make this a success. She has blown me away with her compassion to help others at such a young age. I’m very proud of her.’

The day is being held from 2pm until 4pm. Tickets have sold out but to get in touch e-mail charlottefairall@btinternet.com
