A schoolgirl has been taken to hospital after an accident involving a taxi in Fareham.

Police closed a section of Hartlands Road, in Fareham, after receiving the call at 8.07am this morning.

A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We were called to Hartlands Street following an incident with a car and a pedestrian.

‘A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

‘The road was temporarily closed.

‘The girl’s family have been informed.’
