A GROUP in Stubbington has raised £50 for the Royal British Legion.

The 2nd Stubbington Rainbow unit, for girls aged five to seven, decided to mark Remembrance Sunday by raising money through fun activities.

Unit leader Simone Brett said: ‘As many members of the village were active in the Armed Forces, there are always Rainbows in our unit who come from a military background.

‘We made a giant poppy using coins which the girls brought in, which we followed with a fun games night.

‘The girls were very proud to have raised money for such a worthy cause.’

The money was given to Tony Jones of the Lee-on-the-Solent British Legion.
