ALMOST £1,500 was raised to help children with hearing loss after a golf tournament.

Basepoint Waterlooville presented The Elizabeth Foundation children’s charity with a cheque for £1,455.

Basepoint matched the proceeds raised by an auction at the golf gala at The Old Thorns hotel in Liphook.

At the golf event, 22 teams battled it out to help raise funds for The Elizabeth Foundation, with Basepoint fielding two teams; one headed by Basepoint’s chairman, Denis Taylor, and the other by Basepoint’s managing director, Brian Andrews, who managed to win both games.

Following a dinner and auction, ex-Portsmouth goalkeeper, Alan Knight gave a brief talk on the life of a footballer, which was followed by a question-and-answer session.
