A LIFEBOAT crew came to the rescue of a man who was having a suspected heart attack onboard a yacht.

The Gosport lifeboat went to the Sunsail yacht at 11am on Sunday to find a 67-year old man collapsed and not breathing on board, off Osbourne Bay, Isle of Wight.

The Gosport boat was joined by lifeboats from Calshot and Hamble. The man was given oxygen, life support and an EAD shock from a defibrillator, which restarted his breathing.

The Coastguard helicopter put a paramedic on board, before it was escorted to Cowes and the man was taken to hospital.
