CAROLINE Dinenage MP will host a Gosport Enterprise Fair on November 18. The event will take place at the Jervis Gallery, St Vincent College, from 1.30pm.

The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (Solent LEP), will help run the free business support exhibition. Organisations such as X-Forces, British Marine and Gosport Borough Council, will also be supporting the fair.

The aim of the event is to offer guidance to marine businesses, residents and the armed forces. Those attending often run a business, or are considering starting one in the future.

A similar council Business and Employment Fair was held in January. Ms Dinenage also attended the January event to show her support for local companies.

Next week’s event will boast an exciting line-up of keynote speakers. Chairman of Gosport-based Clipper Ventures, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and X-Forces’ chief executive Ren Kapur will discuss entrepreneurship, funding and help available to start and grow a business.

A networking session will follow, providing guests with an opportunity to speak with representatives from support organisations. The Start-Up Loans Company, Gosport Informal Network, and Hampshire Enterprise Circle will all attend the fair.

Ms Dinenage said: ‘Having run my own business for many years I know how important it is for entrepreneurs to be able to access the support they need to see their business flourish.’

She added: ‘I am delighted to host this event with the Solent LEP, which will bring together important stakeholders to help boost local enterprise. While the event will have a special Armed Forces and maritime focus, budding entrepreneurs and businesses from any sector are welcome to attend to take advantage of the special opportunities on offer.’

The event will be promoted under the banner of Enterprising Gosport.
