CAROLINE Dinenage and rescue dog Miss Flea are competing in a top dog competition in London.

The Gosport MP is taking part in the Westminster Dog of the Year competition with the pooch from the RSPCA’s Stubbington Ark. The annual competition takes place outside the Houses of Parliament and is organised by the Kennel Club and Dogs Trust.

It gives MPs the chance to show off either their own dog or a dog from their constituency.

This year, Ms Dinenage decided to raise awareness of the work done by RSPCA branch Stubbington Ark by entering the competition with the Ark’s office dog, a Jack Russell named Miss Flea.

The winner will be chosen by public vote so Ms Dinenage is calling on people to get behind Miss Flea and vote for her to be crowned Westminster Dog of the Year.

She said: ‘The Stubbington Ark does a wonderful job of rescuing, caring for and re-homing dogs and other animals in need. That is why I am so proud to be entering the Westminster Dog of the Year competition with their very own pooch.’
