Gosport networking lunch is a success

MEMBERS of voluntary projects packed out a networking event, learning about how to fund their schemes.

The event, run by Gosport Voluntary Action (GVA), saw representatives from more than 20 groups meet at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Haslar Road, Gosport yesterday.

The group was told how to improve the chance of funding by Pat Cook, a policy and learning officer from Big Lottery Fund UK.

Richard Mackay from Lee-on-the-Solent Residents’ Association said it was useful to find out what other groups did.

He said: ‘Finding out what other organisations do is important.

‘Gosport’s got loads of voluntary and charity groups.

‘Even if you want to meet new groups you don’t always know where they are.’

Following the talk at the event, some attendees were given a short taster tour of the museum.

For information about future events call (023) 9258 3836.
