THE main stage hosted performances from Big Brother Soul and tribute band, Killer Queen, but is was 11-year-old Jessica Hamer who stole the show at Celebrate! Gosport.

The singer took the top prize in Gosport’s Got Talent, bagging herself £75 as well as the title at the event on Saturday organised by Gosport Borough Council.

Her friend, Chloe Schwartz, nine, of Melville Road, said: ‘I came down here to cheer Jessica on and she’s done really well.’

There were also performances from the Big Noise Samba Band, Ashcroft Rowner Street Dance, Gosport and Solent Brass, Ashley School of Dance, Jazz Morley, The Neptune Girls and The Street Dance Company.

Jill Galvin, 49, of Merstone Road, Gosport, said: ‘It’s great to have something like this in Gosport, it really brings the town back to life.

‘There is a really fun family atmosphere and it’s a great way to enjoy a day out without having to travel.’
