IT WAS a day at the races with a twist at a pub in Gosport.

The Fox Tavern, in North Street, Gosport, held a Family Day at the Races to raise money for the charity.

Hundreds of pounds was raised and all donations went to the Oakley Waterman Foundation - a charity set up to remember six-year-old Oakley who died from a rare form of cancer.

The day raised £509 through a number of activities including auctioning off hobby horses, selling cup cakes and a raffle.

Dave Waterman, Oakley’s dad, attended the afternoon and he said: ‘I will definitely be back and tell all my friends and family what a great atmosphere and crowd this quaint town pub is.’
