Gosport residents can have their Christmas tree taken away for free

‘He’s a lying toad’ - Leaked e-mail sparks council row over future of Portsmouth transport service

Have your say

PEOPLE in Gosport have until January 20 to put their Christmas trees out for free collection.

Anyone with a real Christmas tree should put it out for disposal by 7am on their regular garden waste collection day, after Monday.

It should be left outside in a visible location, be in one piece and have all decorations removed.

Gosport Borough Council’s waste contractors will then take it away for shredding or composting.

If you have a rooted tree you should make sure all the earth is removed from its base.

To find out your garden waste collection day, visit gosport.gov.uk/recycling.
