SEA Cadets were given a cheque for their volunteer work at a party.

Ben Lippiet, manager of Haslar Marina, gave the cheque of £1,350 to Able Cadet Harry Salmon of Gosport Sea Cadets (TS Hornet).

At the marina’s annual berth holders’ party, the sea cadets acted as waiters and waitresses and were given the cheque as a thank-you.

Captain Gavin Pritchard said the sea cadets were grateful for the generous support.

‘We want to thank Ben Lippiet for his support for young people in Gosport,’ he said.

‘We have not decided what the money would be used for but discussions are in hand to possibly purchase a rowing boat so the cadets can learn sliding seat rowing techniques.’
