OLD paintings and photographs from a pub are being sold off to raise money for a cancer charity.

The Cocked Hat, in Privett Road, Gosport, recently underwent a £300,000 refurbishment.

So much interest was shown in what was taken down from the walls that manageress Diana Stephens is holding an auction on Saturday, from midday, with all the money going to the pub’s nominated charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

There will be 30 lots in all and some photographs of Gosport and the naval base going back 100 years.

There are also scenic paintings of the area.
