EVERY Great South Run has its range of weird and wonderful costumes and this year’s was no exception.
Jon Piasco, 47, of Victory Avenue, Waterlooville, ran as popular children’s television character, Peppa Pig.
‘I’ve ran it in costume before,’ he said. ‘But nothing quite this extreme. I went into a shop and just asked for the most outrageous suit they had and this is what I got.
‘It was very hot and tiring, but the conditions were perfect for running.’
Ryan Goodall and Chris Whalley, both 20 and from Purbrook, ran as Batman and Robin.
Ryan said: ‘We went out to find Halloween costumes and this was what we found.
‘We loved wearing the outfits so we thought about using them for the run.’
Chris added: ‘The atmosphere has been amazing.’
Clare Lyons-Amos, 28, of Seafront, Hayling Island, ran the race dressed as a zebra.
She said: ‘Whoever donated the most money got to pick what I ran as. My boyfriend won and picked a zebra.’
