A CHARITY granting wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses has last minute places up for grabs in this year’s Great South Run.
Round Table Children’s Wish is urging runners to sign up for the race in October.
Registration costs £40 and participants are asked to raise £150 in sponsorship for the charity in return for a place in the famous race.
Sam Read, fundraising officer at the charity, said: ‘With general ballot places for the run now full, I hope runners will choose to support us.
‘The money we raise through the Great South Run makes a huge difference to our wish children and their families; creating a magical moment and a special memory at what is often a time of great worry.’
The 10-mile run will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
It will be held on Sunday October 28 at Southsea, taking in Portsmouth’s historic dockyard.
