HORTICULTURISTS are being invited to the next meeting of a horticultural society.

The group meets at Holy Trinity Church, on West Street, Fareham on the first Wednesday of every month.

Their last meeting saw The News’ gardening expert Brian Kidd give an amusing presentation on his early days in horticulture.

Member Ruth Clothier, of Redlands Lane, Fareham, said: ‘We have excellent talks about a wide range of horticultural subjects.

‘Brian Kidd was absolutely amazing, he was a lovely man. He gave us quite a few tips too.’

This month, the speaker is Angela Bushell, who will be talking about flowers.

Mrs Clothier said: ‘We’d really like to see some new members come along, everybody is welcome.’

Membership to the society costs £4 per year.

The meetings start at 7pm, with the guest speaker starting at 7.30pm. Call 01329 287661 for more information.
