A GROUP of dedicated litter pickers cleared up the area around a historic fort.

Around 20 people had co-ordinated through various Gosport-based Facebook pages to clear up outside Fort Brockhurst.

One volunteer even took to the moat in a boat to pick up rubbish.

Jeanette Perry said: ‘There were about 10 black bags of rubbish, four recycling bags, a road cone, a lead glazed window pane and various other items.’

Jeanette is a member of a group called A Voice for Gosport, which is made up of residents who want to improve the town and make it a place people want to visit.
