Group looking for singers

SINGERS are looking for new members to help form a Christmas chorus.

Spirit of the South is a ladies’ four-part harmony singing group who meet every Tuesday evening at Park Community School, Middle Park Way, Leigh Park.

They are about to start up a Christmas chorus in order to raise money for the Rowans Hospice, in Purbrook, and would like to invite other ladies who enjoy singing to join them.

They already have a number of charity engagements booked and now it’s a matter of rehearsing.

New members do not need to audition and parts can be learned using CDs. Rehearsals start on Tuesday, October 30 from 7.30pm to 10pm.

Jackie Stanley, from the group, said: ‘We are very warm and welcoming and although we work hard it’s a lot of fun.’

For more information on joining call either (023) 9264 1997 or (023) 9258 0399.
