A CHARITY that helps feed the world’s poorest children has received a donation from a community group.

The Gosport and Fareham Soroptimists gave £250 to the charity Mary’s Meals, which was doubled thanks to the government’s Aid Match scheme.

The fundraising was led by Soroptimists member Christine Wilkes. Mrs Wilkes has been the driving force behind the club’s support for Mary’s Meals for years, and has arranged collections of essentials such as pencils, notebooks, soap, clothes and flip-flops to be donated to children.
