Guildhall fundraising fun

PORTSMOUTH’S Guildhall Square is the place to be for fun fundraising for Children in Need.

Tomorrow lunchtime there will be a host of activities at the Big Screen, raising cash for the BBC’s annual appeal.

The activities, organised by Portsmouth City Council, will run from midday to 2pm.

They include zumba, karaoke, cheerleading, dance shows, hula-hooping and a chance to have a picture taken with a 2012 Olympic torch.

Organiser Craig Willcock, cultural development officer at the council, said: ‘We’re inviting anyone around at lunchtime to join in, have a bit of fun, and of course help us raise money for children.

‘We’re hoping people will wear something spotty too.

‘The Big Screen will be showing live coverage where possible, so the more eye-catching your outfit the better.’
