HAMPSHIRE County Council is warning motorists to look out for salting lorries on the roads today.
In a trial run before the winter season the vehicles will be out and about from midday on a quarter of the county’s roads.
Mainly targeted will be A class roads, roads in areas of high traffic concentration and roads which provide access for emergency services.
The council is eager to check that equipment is working and that there are no problems on these priority routes.
A spokesman said: ‘Drivers are asked to be considerate if they have to park on the roadside to ensure that there is enough room for the salting lorries to be able to salt the roads.’
A trial run on the community and second priority routes will take place next month.
