OBJECTS that tell the tale of the history of Hampshire are available to view online for the first time.

Items from the Hampshire Museum Service and museums in the Hampshire Solent Alliance now feature on a new website called Heritage 100.

The interactive site is set to revolutionise the way the public can see items in from museums and archives across the county and Isle of Wight.

It brings a range of interesting and quirky objects online, and gives visitors the opportunity to access 3D images and learn about the history of the objects and where they came from.

Creators hope it will spark youngsters’ interest in the history and heritage of their own area in a way they are familiar with.

It has already had over 1,000 visitors since going live this winter.
