A YOUTH charity has won a new contract to develop services for young people across Fareham, Gosport and Havant.

Motiv8’s programmes and activities for young people in the area will be boosted thanks to a bid of £350,000 funding from Hampshire County Council.

New services will include hubs in Leigh Park, Wecock, Hayling and Purbook in Havant, and in Brune Park, Rowner and Bridgemary in Gosport.

They will provide a host of activities and support for youngsters aged 11 to 19 across the area.

Motiv8’s chief executive Charlie Adie said: ‘We are delighted to have secured this work to benefit young people. It will double our youth work offer in Hampshire.

‘We’re working hard to recruit new staff and get the youth clubs and projects up and running by the end of April.’

The charity hopes the full range of services will be in place from June 2012.
