The music extravaganza started on Saturday and runs throughout the week from St George’s Church in Waterlooville.

The opening night saw the melodies of the 1960s come to life once again.

Jane Rice-Oxley, one of the organisers, said: ‘What a first night! Such a brilliant success.

‘It was a sell out. The sixties sounds from Out of the Shadows wowed the audience. The dance floor was filled with enthusiastic dancers of diverse ages. The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Marjorie Smallcorn, attended and said it was a splendid evening and she hoped the rest of the festival was as good!’
