A Southsea cyclist certainly thinks so after spotting something mysterious while going out along the seafront for an early-morning bike ride.

The pictures taken by Debbie Lear at 6am on Friday show something in the calm Solent, reminiscent of the famous monster said to live in Loch Ness.

But in the next photo taken moments later it has vanished.

Debbie’s ‘discovery’ follows reports of a sighting of Nessie off the Isle of Wight.

Debbie said: ‘In one of the photos there was a patch of what looked like rocks sticking out of the calm water, but in the next photo this “patch of rocks” had disappeared. I spent some time thinking about what this could be, maybe a seal?

‘This is when I remembered the story about a couple living on the Isle of Wight who had spotted what they believed was a Loch Ness monster. Could this be what I had seen in my photographs?’
