A group of air cadets from Havant have learned valuable life-saving skills.

Members of 2327 (Havant) Squadron Air training corps attended a Heartstart training course.

The skills they learned will enable them to carry out CPR on casualties, freeing up
valuable first aiders to attend to other injuries at any accident scene.

The cadets ranged in age from 13 to 20 and will progress to either a youth first aid course or a first aid at work course.

Havant Air cadets is a charity youth organisation taking children from the surrounding area from the age of 12.

During their time with the squadron they learn self-discipline, first aid, radio communication and can obtain a BTEC in aviation studies. Eventually they can apply for flying and gliding scholarships and attend annual camps.

The squadron meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm to 9.30pm in Timsbury Crescent.
