FAMILIES enjoyed a free day of fun thanks to a church’s community spirit.

People flocked to Havant Park at the weekend to watch dance displays and live music performances.

The event was organised by the Havant Family Church with help from the other branches of the church around Portsmouth.

Organiser Steve Carey said: ‘It was a great success and there was a constant flow of people.

‘It’s about doing something for the community and it looked like everyone had a good time.’

Youngsters were given the chance to get up close with some furry creatures at a mobile petting zoo while others had their face painted.

There was also an assault course and performances from Portsmouth street dance group Legacy.

People were kept entertained throughout the day by steel band Panjazz International.
