HAVANT’s new heritage group continues to grow.

A total of 68 people attended the open meeting of Havant Civic Society in St Faith’s Church Hall.

Around 20 more people have signed up to the 40-strong group.

The meeting included a debate about East Street.

The minutes state: ‘Tim Dawes said there was no further news. It is disappointing that the housing allocation had been reduced by only one from the Barratt plan. No other developer is known to have come forward.’

Councillor Jackie Branson spoke about planning blight and said she would investigate possibilities of following up with the owners of neglected buildings.
