Meat cleaver ‘flailing’ thug sent to prison after severing boy’s fingers in self defence

Have your say

An avid sports fan with a keen interest in becoming a sports journalist, I have many sporting interests including some sports not as well-followed in England, such as American football and baseball.

After attending The Toynbee School for five years, I progressed to South Downs College where I studied a B-TEC in sports coaching and development followed by a B-TEC in creative media production/mixed print.

Despite my visual impairment, I still enjoy playing sports such as cricket and golf.

I have been a supporter of Havant & Waterlooville Football Club since 2003, a member of Hampshire VI Cricket Club since 2008 and a member of England and Wales Blind Golf since 2011.

My desire to become a journalist is born out of the lifestyle I live which is very sport orientated.

I have had articles published regarding particular sporting issues concerning some of the communities’ top clubs. Also since February 2013, I have worked as a reporter and summariser on the Grass Roots Football Show on Express FM. My ultimate aim is to end up working as a sports journalist either in print or as a radio presenter.

The area I will be covering will be Havant and the surrounding area.
