FIREFIGHTERS were called out after a patch of overgrown grass caught fire in a field.

One truck from Havant fire station was sent out to deal with the incident behind Ditcham Crescent, Leigh Park, at 2pm on Saturday.

A hose and mats attached to poles were used to put out the flames and cool the area down.

Crew manager James Pickner said the fire was being treated as malicious.
