A CHARITY football tournament will see 30 teams battle it out to be crowned champions.

The six-a-side tournament is set to take place at Havant Rugby Club, Hook Lane, Havant and organiser, Tony Wilkins, wants to beat last year’s total.

Tony said: ‘Last year’s tournament raised £3,000 but this year’s is so much bigger.

‘There are about four times as many teams and a greater emphasis on making the event attractive to families.

‘Local businesses and community organisations have been very supportive and we want families and spectators to feel welcome to attend and make use of the facilities on offer.’

Organised by Dunham Bush Football Club, the tournament is raising money for The Rowans Hospice.

A variety of craft, plants and food stalls will 
be available as well as a bouncy castle, face-painting, outdoor laser quest and children’s fairground ride.

Representatives from Pompey will also be at the tournament which starts at 8am and will finish at 5pm.
