PORTSMOUTH College students are set for a terrifying wake-up call next week when they step into a virtual ageing photo booth which shows how they might look at 70 years old if they carry on smoking.

The Future Vision scheme is being run by the Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB) who want to raise awareness of the link between smoking and sight loss.

Phil Harris, assistant principal of the college and head of student services, said: ‘A proportion of our students have developed a smoking habit before they join.

‘We are keen to engage in the support of all of these students on the subject of smoking and health, including those who are not yet committed to giving up.’

The virtual ageing photo booth will be at the college from Monday to Wednesday.
