Portsmouth students inspired about their futures at event

An air ambulance helicopter landed on a school playing field to help a woman suffering from a medical emergency.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was called at 11am yesterday after a female needed assistance. South Central Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and one ambulance crew.

The air ambulance had permission to land in the grounds of Craneswater Junior School, in St Ronans Road, Southsea.

One female was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital by ambulance with a life-threatening condition.
