The new service comes as part of the Better Local Care initiative which aims to improve residents’ access to a wider range of services.

Dr Duncan Pickup, chairman of Waterlooville Better Local Care Locality, said: ‘This is a really positive step forward. It means that we can provide more localised care in a smoother, more efficient and timely way.

‘We recognise that it is going to take time to communicate these changes to our patients and we welcome feedback from our patients.’
