GP PRACTICES have joined together with other healthcare professionals to improve home visiting services.

Four surgeries in the Waterlooville area will work with specialist paramedic and nurse practitioners from the ambulance service to carry out home visits and improve the levels of care given to patients.

The four practices involved are Queenswood Surgery, London Road, Waterlooville; Vine Medical Group, Waterlooville; Cowplain Family Practice and Denmead Health Centre.

The new service comes as part of the Better Local Care initiative which aims to improve residents’ access to a wider range of services.

Dr Duncan Pickup, chairman of Waterlooville Better Local Care Locality, said: ‘This is a really positive step forward. It means that we can provide more localised care in a smoother, more efficient and timely way.

‘We recognise that it is going to take time to communicate these changes to our patients and we welcome feedback from our patients.’
