YOUNGSTERS took part in a tennis festival aimed at boosting participation in sport.
The Alverstoke Tennis Club, in Gosport, ran the free festival for 120 children at schools in the area. They took part in a number of workshops aimed at improving hand-eye co-ordination.
Head tennis coach Dave Buzzard said: ‘It was a great success.
‘From this we have managed to secure some extra after-school clubs at some local schools.
‘You hear a lot of talk now about childhood obesity.
‘So we just want to get children interested in sport so they can get active.’
The three-week event, held in February, was sponsored by the Gosport School Partnership.
