AWARDS have been given out to NHS staff for their hard work.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust handed out Star Awards to employees who have ‘delivered exceptional care to patients’.

The trust employs around 8,000 people across Hampshire and cares for people with physical and mental health conditions in the community, hospitals, GPs surgeries, schools and clinics.

The winners were announced at the Novotel Hotel in Southampton. Local winners included Joan Brock, matron for specialised mental health services at Ravenswood House, Knowle, and the Health Care Support Workers for Fareham and Gosport.

Chief executive, Katrina Percy, said: ‘This goes to show what amazing work goes on in our local NHS and I am proud to recognise these award-winners. We know our staff go out of their way to care for and support patients and service users, and that behind the front-line staff are more teams who help them achieve that high quality care.’

There were more than 200 nominations for people and teams in the trust.
