IF YOU want to have a say in how health care services are provided, then join a new patient group.
Healthwatch Portsmouth is a body being created to help people get involved in health care needs and the services out there.
It also acts as a watchdog and has been created as part of the Health and Social Care Act, which was passed last year.
Healthwatch will take over the responsibilities from the Portsmouth Local Involvement Network.
A Healthwatch spokesman said: ‘We are seeking people who can join our interim board, help to develop our future governance model and work to ensure members have a real voice.
‘This is a voluntary position with reasonable out-of-pocket expenses covered.’
Healthwatch is independent of local authorities and the NHS, and will provide a voice and information for patients.
It comes into effect today.
