A BENCH to remember a ‘lovely and bubbly’ regular has been placed in the beer garden of a pub.

As previously reported, Raymond Tanner, 41, of Langley Road, Copnor, died from kidney failure earlier this year.

Ray was a regular at The British Queen pub, in Queens Road, Portsmouth.

Landlady Tina Place organised a fundraiser in order to buy a bench in Ray’s memory.

During a karaoke night, more than £300 was raised.

But, a bench was donated by another pub goer, and so the money was used for decking and garden decorations.

Tina said: ‘Ray was like one of my sons. We wanted to do something to remember him by.

‘I would like to thank everyone who helped, from the bottom of our hearts. And thanks to Covers for supplying materials.’
