DENTAL hygiene information will be available in Portsmouth on a touring ‘tooth bus’.

The mobile dental clinic is providing free NHS dental check-ups in a bid to improve oral health.

Dr Paul Edmondson-Jones, director of public health for Portsmouth, said: ‘It’s an ideal way for those who haven’t visited a dentist for a couple of years to have a quick check-up in a friendly and relaxed environment.

‘If you’re nervous, the tooth bus is an excellent first step to better oral hygiene.’

The bus will be at the Somers Town Sure Start Centre, in Omega Road, from Monday until Wednesday and again from July 2 to July 4, from 9.20am to 4pm.

It will be at the Asda store, in the Bridge Shopping Centre, Fratton, from June 28 to June 30, from 9am to 4.40pm.

The idea comes from Winchester-based Iosis Dental Clinic, which has been commissioned by NHS Hampshire to deliver the service around Hampshire.
